How Do I Wear That? Shower Yourself in Great Dresses

due strapless maternity dressHi!

Speaking of showers… as we were yesterday, I thought it might be timely to talk a little bit about what you’re wearing to yours. Moms-to-be with early autumn due dates might be hearing your best pals starting the planning. But with the weather hot, hot, hot the tricky part might not be the theme but rather what the guest of honor will wear. I’ve got the solution: the Strapless Maternity Dress from Due.

Shown here in the pretty azure Pool color (perhaps one of the most flattering colors to nearly all skin tones) it’s a great baseline to build your outfit from.

Option 1: Casual poolside shower with Mojitos and Faux-jitos – All you’ll need to make this dress shine is a pretty necklace and some gorgeous nude wedges. I like the idea of a chunky necklaces with a strapless dress since you’re showing so much skin. Look for one in the same blue hues or pale, icy white. The best accessory for your skin is a little sunscreen so you don’t get burned – except perhaps by that tacky gift from Aunt Sue.

Option 2: Tea and Sympathy at a charming Tea House – Top the pretty Sage green version of this dress with a white cardigan then add a brown leather 1″ belt (worn above the bump at the gathered waistline of this dress) and fab gladiator sandals in a neutral brown. Using simple accessories that make a statement you’ve dressed up a basic dress but won’t feel overdone.

Option 3: Home-made Favorites – Lemonade and chicken salad are shower stand-by faves for a reason: they work. So does this dress in basic black. For a shower at our best friend’s home you should still dress to look your best. Take the black version of this dress and pair it with a hot pink cardigan, black ballet flats (or snazzy flip-flops) and a couple of long silver chains at your neck. The sparkling jewelry tops off the classic combo of black and pink.

No matter what you wear remember to relax, have fun and put your feet up!

Wishing you wonderful presents,

Erin
